How It Works

A transparent path from enquiry to ongoing NDIS reviews

Step 1

Tell Us About Your NDIS Goals

Call, WhatsApp, or request a callback. We'll talk through your plan (or planning stage), in-home goals, and the supports you want from an Australian provider.

Step 2

Scope Supports & Match Your Team

We confirm plan budgets, service bookings or line items with you, your plan manager, or coordinator, then match workers with the right skills and personality.

Step 3

Start Services & Review Often

Supports begin under a clear service agreement. A dedicated coordinator checks in after the first shifts, then at least monthly (or sooner if goals or health change). If something is not working—fit, skills, or schedule—we adjust workers or the plan with you, your nominee, or plan manager. Rosters evolve with your NDIS outcomes, not a set-and-forget calendar.

The Process in Detail

Step 1: Tell Us Your Needs

Reach out by phone, WhatsApp, or our callback form. We'll book a consultation (face-to-face around Canberra / ACT or by video) to understand:

  • NDIS plan goals, budgets, and whether you are plan, self, or NDIA managed
  • In-home routines, equipment, and risk factors
  • Rostering preferences, language, and cultural considerations
  • How nominees, coordinators, or family should stay informed

Step 2: Care Plan & Caregiver Match

We document a support plan and service agreement that reflects your NDIS line items, scheduled hours, cancellations, and travel rules. Matching considers:

  • Worker qualifications, delegation, and experience with similar supports
  • Personality fit and communication style with the participant
  • Language, gender, or cultural preferences where requested
  • Roster feasibility across the ACT and nearby NSW localities

Where appropriate, we organise meet-and-greets before regular shifts commence.

Step 3: Start Care + Ongoing Support

Once agreements are signed and bookings are confirmed, supports begin. Expect:

  • Shift notes and escalation paths aligned with your risk plan
  • Responsive contact channels for participants, nominees, and plan managers
  • Plan reviews when NDIS funding or health conditions change
  • Continuous safeguarding monitoring under Australian law

What “review regularly” means: your coordinator checks in after the first shifts, then at least monthly (more often after a change in health, worker, or goals). If something is not working—skills, personality fit, or schedule—we troubleshoot with you and your plan manager before small frustrations become big ones.

Common Questions

What is the NDIS and how does Chemlah Care fit in?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds reasonable and necessary supports for eligible Australians with disability. Chemlah Care delivers Australian-based, in-home disability supports in the ACT and surrounding region. We align our services with the goals and budgets in your plan and confirm scope with you before services start.

Do you work with self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed funding?

Yes. We can discuss invoicing for self-managed participants, payment via your plan manager, or NDIA-managed arrangements where applicable. We'll explain what documentation we need so claims and budgets stay transparent.

Are your support workers screened and trained?

We apply robust recruitment checks and induction training focused on the NDIS Practice Standards, dignity of risk, positive behaviour support principles, and safe manual handling. Matching considers skills, personality, cultural preferences, and the participant's goals.

Which NDIS support categories do you deliver?

Depending on your plan, our services may map to Core supports (e.g. daily personal activities, household tasks) and some capacity-building or health-related supports. We confirm line items and service bookings with you, your planner, LAC, or plan manager before commencement.

Where do you provide services?

We are based in Canberra, ACT, and primarily service the ACT and surrounding NSW communities (including Queanbeyan and the broader Capital region). Contact us if you are nearby—we'll confirm travel and roster feasibility.
